The New Electronic Peg-Board System for Tuesday B+ Session

Dear Badminton ‘B+-Session’ Members,

As some of you may already be aware, the Badminton Committee has been exploring the introduction of a new electronic peg-board system (e-peg), designed to modernise and enhance the way we organise games during our badminton sessions.

The system builds upon our familiar manual peg-board arrangement, retaining the flexibility members are accustomed to while introducing some exciting new features. Similar systems have already been successfully adopted by other badminton clubs.
Importantly, the system offers the best of both worlds: players can continue selecting games manually, just as they do today, or choose to let the electronic system automatically allocate players to games, helping to promote fair and balanced participation. The use of automatic allocation or manual player selection is on the discretion of session rep. We are currently demonstrating the system across the various badminton sessions, giving members an opportunity to experience it first-hand, share their views and help shape its future development. Our initial trials with the C/C+ and B sessions have already generated valuable feedback, resulting in several positive improvements and refinements to the system.

Next up are the Tuesday B+ sessions!
We will be introducing and demonstrating the e-peg system during the B+ sessions, giving you an opportunity to see how it works and experience it in action.

As this is still an evaluation and development phase, we kindly ask everyone to approach the trial with an open mind and a little patience while we familiarise players with the system.
To give you a preview of what to expect, we invite you to watch a short introductory video highlighting the key features of the new electronic peg-board system and explaining how it works. This will help familiarise you with the system ahead of your session. In addition, system developer, Kamran and system support, Trond will be present to assist on-hand.

Your feedback is particularly important to us. Whether positive or constructive, please share your thoughts with your session representatives or organisers. Our aim is to develop a system that works for everyone and makes our badminton sessions even more enjoyable, efficient and inclusive.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, patience and support. We look forward to hearing what you think!

Kind regards,

The Badminton Committee
