A further Update on the Front Car Park

Dear Member,

I would like to provide you with a further update about the problem with the front car park, following on from the email we sent out on Friday evening.

Thames Water arrived at the Club on Saturday morning - 10 hours behind the night works they had scheduled. They have now sited a tanker permanently outside the Club – which by sucking out sewage from the pipes in the road, is preventing the sewers from overflowing. They have committed to doing this until the problems with the underground pipes are rectified.

Whilst Thames Water cannot provide us with any guaranteed time frame to resolve the issue, they have indicated that the drains are unlikely to be fixed this week, due to the complexities associated with this project; they have now discovered the drains are supposedly filled with a building material which has solidified.

Thames Water have reassured us that there will be no future repeats of what we experienced last week with the unwelcome smell and drain issue. They have apologised for all the inconvenience caused and have said they will rectify the problem as quickly as they can.

Several specialist contractors will be working on this project, and we will provide another update once we have further news as to when this work will be completed.

Kind Regards,

WR&FC
