Update on Front Car Park

Dear Member,

I would like to update you on the problem with the front car park.

During this week we have had an unpleasant smell with water rising from one of the drains and water pooling.

A specialist pump contractor attended our site and was able to reassure us that our equipment remains in good working order and there is no problem on site. In addition, a separate contractor attended and attempted to clear the blockage from the leaking drain. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful but were able to confirm that the blockage is not specifically a problem from the Club but suspected there is an issue with the public system in Cranbrook Road which is managed by Thames Water.

Once we had established that the problem was not an internal issue and could not be fixed by a contractor, we contacted Thames Water. Yesterday they attended the site and have confirmed that their pipe is blocked in the road.

Thames Water attended site again today and could not clear the blockage. They concluded that, due to the severity of the problem and the fact the pipe is active during the daytime, they can only fix overnight.

Thames Water are scheduled to attend after midnight and will work to clear the blocked pipes and repair any damaged pipes in the road.

We will provide an update when this has been fixed or Thames Water have provided us with a further update.

Thank you for your patience and continued support whilst we work to resolve what has been a complex situation.

Kind Regards,

WR&FC
